My Top 5 Go-tos for Selling on Vinted in 2024
Whilst there aren’t many Vinted-dedicated blogs out there, there are many valuable articles and YouTube videos out there that I have used to help me on my Vinted journey and will help you on your own!
This post covers my top 5 helpful sources, what I love about them and what to look out for. The positives are the tips, tricks and personal experiences described, but the downsides are that some of the info goes quickly out of date as blogs and media articles can give out incorrect information and aren’t updated, so don’t pass on updates and new ideas.
1: vinted.co.uk
Seems obvious, but the first place I go to if I need information about anything is straight to the horse’s mouth! Vinted has an extensive help centre, which is chock full of information, including ‘getting started’ and ‘about vinted’ sections, which I highly recommend you read through before you start for an overview of the process, plus selling tips and how-tos for every step of the way. The help articles are written for mobile and desktop. They can also be split between buyer and seller points of view, which is handy as you can find the exact solution you need.
I regularly check the help articles as procedures are tweaked and changed without Vinted informing users. I use them to keep my knowledge current.
You can find me on Vinted here! If you give me a follow, I’ll follow back!
2: eBay
This could be surprising as eBay could be seen as a competing site. However, I use eBay to see what’s selling, popular, and trending.
eBay is also beneficial when creating listing titles and descriptions, and you can carry out a Sold Items search. This allows you to search for the item you will list on Vinted and establish if it or similar items are selling and how much they went for. This is useful when pricing your items on Vinted, as their suggested prices can be very low. You can also decide if it’s worth selling the item on eBay if the prices are reasonable.
3: The Busybeck.com
This article is a great, basic, general intro to selling on Vinted, with tips on optimising your listings and good habits to develop to increase your sales and keep customers happy.
Although the article was written in 2022, it is still relevant as it covers the principles of successful selling online rather than only focusing on Vinted specifics.
The blog covers buying secondhand fashion here, plus other lifestyle, business and educational articles, courses and resources.
4: beckyburnesstyle.com
I love this site! Becky is a UK-based personal stylist with a focus on sustainability. Right up my street, for sure! In this article, she shares her 12 top tips for getting more views on your items and increasing your chances of a sale. She focuses mainly on photographs but includes other listing tips, which I, too, recommend when selling on Vinted. I love that she uses ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ images in the post as a visual guide.
The blog is focused on sustainable fashion, and many posts cover buying and selling mixed with styling tips. It looks beautiful and simple too!
5: Youtube:
A quick search on YouTube will bring up many videos about buying and selling on Vinted. Some are great, and some not so much. I love the quick and easy of YouTube, and it’s great for getting started and enthusiastic.
Here are 3 great videos to get you started:
Charlotte Rebecca: this account initially started as a journey from shopaholic to minimalist and has evolved over time to cover money-saving tips, side hustles, and heading towards financial freedom. Charlotte’s Vinted video here is excellent and explains the selling process in detail, covering everything from start to finish with an emphasis on buyer satisfaction and trust – another critical factor that I teach. She’s also on Instagram.
Gracey Blossom: Gracey is a mom blogger, blogging about family life, vlogs, reviews, food hauls, lifestyle, cleaning motivation and more. She has a few good Vinted videos on her channel, including why you should use Vinted, how it works, selling tips and one on shipping methods. It’s not her main thing, but the videos are quick and easy to watch.
The Mummy Bubble: this channel is from Vicky, a work-at-home mum of two who shares tips on making and saving money, organising and cleaning. She only has a few Vinted videos, but this one is a great intro and includes tips and tricks on listing, pricing, bundle discounts, shipping, and a comparison to other selling sites. She also has a blog post about Vinted here. Vicky’s blog, More than a Mummy, focuses on making and saving money, plus how to start a blog business.
Conclusion…
There is a fair amount of information about Vinted online. Still, I have found much of it mixed with other ideas – making and saving money, side hustles, decluttering, etc – rather than specifically about Vinted – which is where I come in!
Also, much of the info needs to be updated. Vinted changes its procedures and shipping policies and tests new features regularly. Older articles and videos, in particular, can quickly become inaccurate.
But the info I have included in this post is a great introduction, providing the basics you need to know to hit the ground running!
I hope you enjoyed this post, and stay tuned for updates, tips, tricks and how-tos from me!
